Le Royal Meridien Chennai

We wanted a one night stay near the airport and this was ideal. It’s just three stops on the Metro plus a ten minute walk. It is some distance from the city centre and there aren’t many restaurants nearby. The hotel is quite a grand place with a pleasant garden and lovely pool. Staff were very attentive and helpful. Breakfast was very good with a lot of choice. We had an Executive King Room, which was huge and well equipped. Unfortunately, it was beginning to show its age and needed a bit of refurbishing here and there. Having said that, we had a very enjoyable stay.

I was not feeling well when I arrived so I had two meals in my room, the staff were very flexible when I asked for something that was not on the menu - they allowed me to have it. Also, I told them I was not feeling well and a young woman said she would check on me which she did, that day and the next. I felt the service was very caring.

I only had Dal Khichadi for all 3 days which was good. Dinner is very expensive should be at least 30% cheaper probably it would have more footfalls.

Check in staff were good. The Spa connected to the hotel was good value. I enjoyed the buffet restaurant for dinner, but most dishes were too spicy for me.

The lobby and the rooms were beautiful and very clean. Comfortable beds and a great bathroom. The amenities were fresh and well stocked. Staff are polite and generally very well equipped to understand guest queries.
